Baby

Baby sizes are the same across every category — apparel, swim and sets all run 3–6M through 18–24M.

Why the labels change

You'll see three different size runs on our tags depending on the season and the category. They're built off the same body — only the labeling differs.

Doubled through 4–5Y, then single sizes. Tops, sweatshirts, dresses, pants and sets.

Older Fall styles double every size. 6–7Y is the same body as 6Y, 8–9Y the same as 8Y, and so on up the run.

Swim

Single sizes from 2T up, so 2T and 3T are cut separately. Rash guards, boardshorts, bikinis and surf suits.

How our fits run

Body measurements get you to the right size. These notes cover how each fabrication sits on top of it.

Swim is cut to fit close

Rash guards, surf suits and one-pieces are patterned smaller than the body so the stretch holds them in place in the water. Take the true size — sizing up leaves the suit loose once it's wet.

Hacci, terry and cozy knits run relaxed

Sweatshirts, hoodies and hacci tops are cut generously through the body and shoulder for layering. Between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Rib tops sit close to the body

Our rib knit tops are slim through the chest and waist with plenty of stretch. Go by the chest measurement and expect a fitted look.

Bottoms: size by inseam

Elastic and drawcord waistbands cover a wide waist range, so inseam is the number that decides the size. Denim and twill run about ¾″ longer than joggers and knit pants at the same size.

Between two sizes?

Size up in outerwear, jackets and pants where there's growing room to use. Stay true in swim, rib and anything with a defined fit.

Sets are sized as one

Two-piece sets are cut to a single size for both pieces. If your child is a different size top and bottom, size to the top.

About these numbers

Body measurements are taken from our graded production specs and cross-checked against standard children's body sizing. Finished garment measurements differ from the body measurements shown here because ease varies by fabrication — that difference is what the fit notes describe.
